How long will it take?
A Tune Up at Guaranteed! generally takes about half an hour, give or take a few minutes. It can be done while you wait - and you can book your car in from as early as 7:30am, so the job can even be done before you go to work.

Why does your car go out of tune?
Even when your car is just ticking over, its spark plugs are firing thousands of times each minute. Every time a spark is generated, it 'burns away' a tiny piece of metal at the end of the spark plugs and the points in the distributor, ultimately impairing the efficiency and reducing the spark at the plug. With out a good spark at the right time, your car's engine can't burn petrol efficiently and economically.

The carburetor or fuel injection is just as critical as the ignition system. Vibrations from the engine and the road can cause your carburetor to go out of adjustment.

With fuel injection systems these are affected by the build up of gum deposits in the fuel delivery system from the petrol, and carbon build up around the injectors.

These problems result in a poor air-fuel mixture that makes your car progressively harder to start and it will also begin to use more and more petrol.
